Ramazan, Kurban Bayramı, Mevlid and what they mean for travellers.
Turkish religious holidays are based on the lunar Hijri calendar and shift ~10 days earlier each solar year. Diyanet (Religious Affairs Directorate) announces them a year or two ahead; dates below are based on the official 2024–2027 calendar. Each holiday has a clear tourism effect — Ramazan softens nightlife, Kurban Bayramı empties government offices, and Mevlid bumps domestic tourism in Konya.
